The Patriots will likely have some help back in their secondary on Sunday vs. the Bills.
On Saturday, Jack Jones was officially activated and signed to New England's 53-man roster. The cornerback spent the first six weeks of the season on injured reserve with a hamstring injury he suffered at the end of training camp.
the rich keefe show with Kadlick and lyons: Was the Jets win where the Patriots officially fell off the cliff?
Jones has had a whirlwind of a 2023 thus far. After putting together a stellar minicamp, the former Arizona State Sun Devil was arrested for reportedly having two loaded firearms in his carry-on luggage at Logan Airport while trying to depart Boston following New England’s offseason program.
After several appearances in court, said charges against Jones were dropped. He agreed to one year of pre-trial probations and 48 hours of community service.
The Patriots had an open spot on their roster following the release of DB/ST Ameer Speed on Thursday, so no other transaction was required for Jones' activation.
With Christian Gonzalez on injured reserve and Jonathan Jones and Shaun Wade among 16 (!!) Patriots listed as questionable for Sunday, Jack Jones will likely make his season debut against Buffalo this weekend and may also have to play a key role in helping defend wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
Additionally, New England placed OT Riley Reiff on injured reserve, and activated ST Cody Davis off of PUP. They also elevated WR Jalen Reagor and DT Trysten Hill from the practice squad for Sunday’s game.
