6 rings: 3 matchups to watch in Patriots vs. Raiders in Las Vegas on Sunday
The Patriots made an abundance on roster moves prior to their Sunday afternoon matchup versus the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
Tyquan Thornton was officially signed to the active roster. The wide receiver was placed on injured reserve in August after initially making New England’s 52-man roster due to a shoulder injury suffered in joint practices with Green Bay.
After being drafted with the 50th overall pick in 2022, Thornton played in 13 games for the Patriots and recorded 11 receptions for 247 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also added a touchdown on the ground. With New England already ruling out JuJu Smith-Schuster and Demario Douglas for Sunday with concussions, the former Baylor Bear should step in and play an immediate role in the offense.
Additionally, the team officially placed Matthew Judon on injured reserve with an elbow injury he suffered in the team’s Week 4 loss to Dallas. The linebacker had surgery last week and posted on Instagram that he’ll “be back”. For now, he’ll miss a minimum of four games.
The Patriots also signed QB/WR Malik Cunningham to their 53-man roster, elevated WR Jalen Reagor and DL Jeremiah Pharms to the game-day roster for Sunday, and placed OT Tyrone Wheatley Jr. on injured reserve.
