The Matthew Judon drama appears to be coming to an end.
According to multiple reports, the linebacker is being traded by the Patriots to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick. Jordan Schultz was first to report news of the deal.
UPDATE: The Patriots confirmed the trade Thursday morning.
The 31-year-old had been embroiled in contract dispute, with Judon heading into the final season of four-year, $54.5 million deal. He is scheduled to be paid $6.5 million in 2024, although his cap hit sits at $14,675,848.
Judon has been with the Patriots for the past three seasons, playing in just four games last year due to a torn biceps muscle. He registered 12 1/2 sacks in 2021 and 15 in 2022.
