ken & curtis: not even the patriots know what's happening at quarterback
The Patriots seemingly held a quarterback competition this week in practice and while we don't yet know who won it, we now know someone who didn't.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the team waived QB Will Grier on Saturday morning.
Grier had been working as both the team's scout team and third string quarterback in practice since being claimed in late September, but had yet to be activated in a game this season. He was designated as the team's emergency QB on several occasions.
The waiving of Grier is likely to open up a roster spot for practice squad tackle Conor McDermott who, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss, is expected to be added to the Patriots active roster on Saturday.
