Ravens back out of Maxx Crosby trade in stunning development

In a stunning turn of events, Maxx Crosby is once again a Las Vegas Raider.

For now.

"The Baltimore Ravens have backed out of our trade agreement for Maxx Crosby. We will have no further comment at this time," the Raiders shared in a statement.

Crosby failed today's physical, according to The Athletic's Dianna Russini.

The defensive end played through a meniscus injury in 2025 and recorded 10 sacks and 28 tackles for loss. Although he got hurt in October, he played a subsequent 15 games and did not undergo surgery until January.

The Ravens paid a sky-high price for the 28-year-old year old. They offered Vegas a pair of first-round picks, and Crosby has three years left on a $106.5 million contract with $91.5 million guaranteed. His base salary for the 2026 season is $30 million and carries a $35.79 million salary cap hit.

Crosby is a two-time All-Pro player and has earned Pro Bowl honors five times.
