Steelers reportedly closing in on Aaron Rodgers

Numbers for the future Hall of Famer in 2024

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – There has always seemed to be a fondness from Mike Tomlin for Aaron Rodgers. Now the Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac reports the team is ‘closing in’ on a deal for the future Hall of Fame quarterback.

Coming back from a season-ending Achilles injury in the first game in 2023, Rodgers started all 17 for the Jets last year throwing for 3,897 yards, competing 63% of his passes with 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. The 41-year-old was sacked 40 times and New York won five games.

Rodgers ranked as the 18th best quarterback in the NFL last year, behind Russell Wilson (15) and ahead of Matthew Stafford, Jordan Love and Justin Fields. The 77.8 PFF grade is the third lowest in his career, slightly better than his last full season in 2022 at 77.7. Rodgers' four touchdowns in his last game against Miami were his most in a single game in 2024. Against the Steelers he completed 61.5% of his passes for 276 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.

Overall in his 20-year career, Rodgers has a 153-87-1 record, 65.1% completion, 62.952 yards, 503 TD, and 116 interceptions.
