Roger Goodell is Dear Leader.
When the ESPN cameras peered into Sean McVay’s draft room in Malibu, Calif., the walls were entirely bare — except for a portrait of the NFL commissioner hanging in the back.
It appears to be the only artwork in the room. The lone piece of furniture is a worn-looking green sofa set.
Suffice to say, McVay’s pad pales in comparison to Kliff Kingsbury’s palatial draft set-up. That’s for sure.
In fact, the picture is so creepy, one must ask whether it is being displayed as a weird sign of gratitude -- perhaps for an opportune no-call?
There isn’t additional information on the house, including whether anybody actually inhabits the barren quarters, or if there are dead bodies buried somewhere. Either way, Goodell is always watching.
The Shield must be protected.
