Nov. 3 is a big day.
Sure, the Tuesday marks the Election Day. But the lead-in to those results will be the NFL Trade Deadline.
In previous seasons we've seen Bill Belichick use the moment to ship Jimmy Garoppolo to San Francisco and Jamie Collins to Cleveland while reeling in Mohamed Sanu last year.
Once again, there are needs for this Patriots team. It's why Nick "Fitzy" Stevens offered up his wish list when it came to Pats targets during Saturday's show on WEEI with Ken Laird.
Here are Fitzy's guys:
1. Zach Ertz, tight end, Eagles: Without much production at all from Ryan Izzo or either of the rookies, Devin Asiasi and Dalton Keene, this is a definite need. Ertz, who is signed up for 2021, is seemingly being pushed aside by Dallas Goedert.
2. Golden Tate, wide receiver, Giants: While he does carry an $11 million cap hit for 2021, Tate has always been considered a good fit for Belichick and Co. Coming into Sunday he has been targeted 18 times this season, making 14 catches.
3. Marvin Jones Jr, wide receiver, Lions: Remember when the Patriots were on the verge of signing the wideout in 2016? They might have another chance to land the 30-year-old receiver who seems like a luxury for the woeful Lions.
4. Kenny Golladay, wide receiver, Lions: This is a high-end ask, with considering you're talking about someone who has a 135 catches over the previous two seasons and is just 26 years old. But he would be just what the doctor ordered for Cam Newton.
5. Julio Jones, wide receiver, Falcons: Dare to dream.
