The Giants traded up to add another weapon for Daniel Jones, trading up to the No. 73 pick in the third round to select Tennessee WR Jalin Hyatt, the first Vols wideout ever to win the Biletnikoff Award given to the top receiver in FBS.

The Giants dealt the No. 89 pick in the third round and the No. 128 pick in the fourth to the Rams to move up and select Hyatt, who was a unanimous All-American and First Team All-SEC player last season after making 67 catches for 1,267 yards and a school record 15 touchdowns.

It was a huge breakout year for Hyatt, whose freshman season was affected by a COVID-shortened schedule and sophomore season was besieged by injuries.

Listed at 6-foot and 176 pounds, Hyatt ran a 4.4 40-yard dash at the Combine and had the highest NextGen Stats overall score among wideouts. His NFL.com profile comps him to DeSean Jackson, saying he is a "long, slender wideout with deep speed that could force defensive coordinators to alter coverage considerations. Hyatt’s gliding gait disguises explosive acceleration that can lead to easy separation on deep throws, and he is an instantly credible WR2 with the ability to make a huge impact."

His selection was the middle pick in quite an early third round for the Vols, who saw QB Hendon Hooker go to Detroit at No. 68 and fellow wideout Cedric Tillman go to Cleveland with the No. 74 pick after just one player, first-round OT Darnell Wright, went in the first two rounds.
