Boomer: Kayvon Thibodeaux is 'hard to root for'

Craig Carton didn’t seem to have much of a problem with Kayvon Thibodeaux’s response to Jeff Saturday’s criticism of his snow angel celebration, but Boomer Esiason seemed to take some exception.

Boomer believes the Giants rookie had an easy path to explaining what happened when he celebrated while Nick Foles was on the ground next to him, clearly in pain, but instead, he took shots at the Colts head coach, which wasn’t a good look.

“Here’s a guy that’s laying on his back, wind knocked out of him, probably broke a rib or two, kind of like Mike White. And here he is, completely unaware of what’s going on,” Boomer said. “Here’s what he could have said: ‘I didn’t realize he was hurt, I was laying on my back doing my snow angel, I’m sorry. I didn’t realize what that looked like.’ That’s all he had to say.”

But that’s not the route Thibodeaux took, and Boomer had some strong words for how the rookie edge rusher handled the situation.

“The kid is clueless, I mean in this regard anyway,” Boomer said. “He sounds like a pretty smart kid and should know better, but he’s still a kid and is trying to figure it out.

“But he’s hard to root for. I can tell you that.”
