Former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf says new Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh would want Saquon Barkley as his running back.
Boomer doesn’t know if that is indeed the case, but if it is, he says the lifelong Giant should push hard to make that happen.
“If I were Saquon Barkley, if I can go to the Chargers right now under Jim Harbaugh and Justin Herbert, I would try me damnedest to get there, especially if they’re gonna pay me the contract I want,” Boomer said. “If I were him, I would want to get the hell out of New York. I would be totally sick of it already.
“Money’s gonna be a big part of this whole thing…if you’re the Giants, you could protect yourself and tag and trade him I guess…but I kind of feel like it’s over for him there. I want it to be over for him.”
