BT: Saquon Barkley situation will haunt the Giants and their fans for a long time

Football conversations have been ‘thrust to the corner’ in BT’s words, at least until the middle of next week, when Saquon Barkley and his Eagles in the Super Bowl will have to dominate the conversation.

“There is nowhere to go, nowhere to hide, and you cannot deflect,” BT said Friday. “You cannot hide, and it’s going to be a tough one.”

And for New Yorkers, that will just be another reminder that Saquon leaving New York will haunt Giants fans forever.

“For the millionth time, it doesn't mean, at least for me, the Giants did the wrong thing. The timing and the circumstances just failed spectacularly,” BT said, as he went into all that we saw on Hard Knocks. “So yeah, the Eagles win every week seemingly as Saquon has an all-time season, and the Giants lose every week seemingly as we ask if they should fire the coach or the GM, while we watch Saquon rip off 200 yard and get to the Super Bowl with all the pomp and circumstance.”

Some Giants fans will likely be able to root for Saquon, even if it means rooting for the Eagles, because Saquon wanted to be here and things just didn’t work out. And, some won’t be able to put that aside, and either way, it’s okay.

Well, not really, as BT took some calls on the subject, and it seems like Big Blue Universe and Brandon are NOT simpatico on what it means, as evidenced by this answer when asked if Saquon, Daniel Jones, and Malik Nabers could’ve been effective triplets.

“Even if he would have gone to Philly and had like 1,390 yards and nine touchdowns…he did stuff for Philly that he never did for you, and that hurts,” BT said. “It hurts because you know that he wanted to stay, but the Giants aren't good enough as a roster to invest $13 to $14 million a year for a running back.”
