Evan Neal ignited rage within the Giants fanbase after ripping fans in an interview with NJ.com, declaring that he paid no mind to booing fans who “flip hot dogs and hamburgers somewhere.”

Just hours after the story was released, and after fans collectively fired back at the struggling offensive lineman, Neal took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to apologize to fans for his comments.

“I am wrong for lashing out at the fans who are just as passionate and frustrated as I am,” Neal wrote. “I let my frustrations in my play and desire to win get the best of me. I had no right to make light of anyone’s job and I deeply regret the things I said.

“We are working day in and day out to grow as a team and this was an unnecessary distraction. I apologize.”

Neal, a former first-round draft pick, has struggled in the first year-plus of his NFL career, and his struggles on the offensive line have contributed to disastrous results on offense, most recently allowing Daniel Jones to be sacked 11 times against the Seahawks at home on Monday night.
