The Giants came up one yard short of an improbable victory over the Bills on Sunday night, as an untimed play at the 1-yard line resulted in an incompletion in the back of the end zone intended for Darren Waller.

Replays showed, and the NBC announcers noted, that Waller appeared to be held for much of the final play as he tried to go up and make what would have been the game-winning catch, but no flags were thrown. A pass interference call had been made the play before on a pass intended for Waller, giving Big Blue one more play, but they couldn’t get another call to get another shot at a win.

“Yeah, it wasn’t called,” was all Daboll had to say about it after the game.

Tyrod Taylor didn’t have much more to say about the no-call.

“I never get into what calls should be made or shouldn't be made,” Taylor said. “It's our job to go out there and play.”

As for the actual play call, Daboll said there was some thought to running the ball in with Saquon Barkley in his first game back from injury, but in the end, he supported the play call from offensive coordinator Mike Kafka.

“There was some discussion, but we had been stopped on two 3rd-and-1s, we had been stopped at the goal line at the end of the half,” Daboll said. “So I thought it was a good call by Mike.”
