He couldn't pull the upset, as the game Giants fell 22-16 to Philly on Sunday, but Davis Webb will always have one good memory from his first career start: his first NFL touchdown.
It came on the ground, as Webb, who waited almost six seasons to make his first NFL start, called his own No. 12 on a third-and-8 at the Eagles’ 14 and rumbled into the end zone, running over Eagles safety Reed Blankenship as the final hurdle to his first trip to paydirt:
Webb, a third-round pick of the Giants in 2017, didn’t even enter a game until last season, when he ran one drive in a Bills blowout win that saw him give two handoffs and kneel down twice. So, his first NFL start on Sunday, almost six full years into his career, saw his first NFL pass attempt, first completion, and finally, first touchdown.
