The line for the Giants/Cowboys game on Sunday afternoon has hovered around 17 points in favor of Dallas, and Gio says a New York win would likely represent the biggest regular season upset of his lifetime by a New York football team.
“If the Giants were to win this game, this would be the biggest upset pulled off in the regular season that you could ever remember by a New York team,” Gio said, noting a 2020 Jets win over the Rams as the only contender.
“It was Week [15] when the Jets went out to LA, had zero wins, were a 17-point underdog, the Rams were -1900 on the money line. This is now even worse than that.”
The Jets were actually a 17.5-point underdog before that game, which is exactly what the spread was for this weekend’s Giants/Cowboys game as of late Friday morning. While it’s fun to imagine such a colossal upset, Gio says it’s more sad to think about what has become of a once hyped Giants season.
“If you wanted to win $100 on the Cowboys to win the game, you would have to put up $2,200 just to win $100,” Gio said. “This right here is like Penn State taking on Punxsutawney Community College. this is the type of line that we’re talking about. It’s embarrassing.”
