Kadarius Toney is now questionable for Sunday’s Giants home opener against Carolina due to a hamstring issue.
Head coach Brian Daboll told the media Friday morning that Toney felt some hamstring tightness during Thursday’s practice, in the same leg that gave him issues throughout training camp, and the team would evaluate his practice Friday before determining his status for Sunday.
“We’ll see where he’s at today; he didn’t participate in all the periods he normally would, because he tightened up,” Daboll said. “Maybe it’s just a tightened up hamstring. Maybe it’s a little more. He’s in there getting treatment. We’ll see what he can do today.”
It did appear, however, based on later video out of Giants practice that Toney was participating in full:
And, according to Art Stapleton of the Bergen Record, Toney participated during the media viewing period and was “running routes and did not appear to be limited.”
Toney played just seven snaps in the Giants’ win over Tennessee in Week 1, recording no catches but rushing twice for 23 yards.
