C-Mac: If Giants fans want wins, wouldn't Tyrod Taylor be best option to start?

As Brian Daboll faces a decision of who should start at quarterback on Monday against the Packers, C-Mac wants it to be Tommy DeVito, like many Giants fans seem to want.

“We know what Tyrod Taylor is. Tyrod Taylor is one of the best backups in the league,” C-Mac said. “I think Tyrod Taylor is a fine quarterback and an excellent backup, but we know who he is.

“But Tommy DeVito could end up being a suitable backup as well…or he could be more than that. I doubt it, but I want to see, and the fans want to see.”

But, C-Mac wants to know what Giants fans really want, as many criticized him for rooting for losses that could lead to a top draft pick. So, if winning is the goal, then is DeVito really the best choice, regardless of how good the story has been for the New Jersey native so far?

“Here’s the question I have for Giants fans…how badly do you want them to win?” C-Mac said. “Because I think it’s a very hard case to make…there’s no argument to who is a more proven quarterback, and who probably gives you the better chance to win.

“The more stable quarterback, the less likely to go out there and put up an absolute dud…is Tyrod Taylor. So if you’re one of these Giant fans who scoffed at me and yelled at me…I don’t see how you can make both statements? How can you scoff at me and tell me it’s all about winning and then tell me you have to play DeVito? Because they’ve won the last two games?

“Tyrod Taylor is an NFL quarterback. He belongs in this league. I have no idea what Tommy DeVito is gonna be. He can be out of the NFL next season. We have no idea.”
