The Giants signed Landon Collins to the active roster two weeks ago after some strong performances off the practice squad, and in a win-and-in game for Big Blue, Collins gave the team a HUGE boost late in the first half vs. Indianapolis.

With Big Blue up 14-3 just inside the two-minute warning, Collins picked off former Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles’ pass intended for Parris Campbell and rumbled 52 yards for a pick-six:

It was a huge play, as Darnay Holmes was hurt on the previous one, leading the Giants to take a timeout and forcing Collins, who has been a hybrid safety/linebacker in his return to New York, out into coverage on a third-and-10 play.

Collins had eight tackles, one sack, and one pass defensed in his first four games with the Giants this season after signing with the practice squad in October. He was elevated for Week 7 in Jacksonville, Week 8 in Seattle, and Week 15 in Washington before being signed to the active roster ahead of last week’s game in Minnesota.

So, if you read that last paragraph carefully, you’ll have noticed that this is Collins’ first active home game since returning – and what a way to be welcomed back by the Big Blue faithful!
