McMonigle sounds off on Saquon Barkley still being asked about Giants tenure

Saquon Barkley is still being asked about his Giants tenure, as the running back fielded a question about his message to Big Blue fans as he is less than a week away from competing in the Super Bowl with the Eagles.

Barkley responded that there was “nothing but love” for the fans in New York, and that he is grateful for the time he spent as a Giant. It was a response Chris McMonigle had no issue with, but the fact that the question was asked in the first place set him off.

“That is a great comment. It’s perfectly said,” C-Mac said. “That’s why part of us as Giants fans are disappointed that he’s gone, because of how great a person he is...you could not have answered the question better.

“I don’t even want to hear him asked the question...I hate the premise of the question. Who cares what his message to Giants fans is? It’s not like he signed yesterday. We’ve had an entire season to watch it! There’s no more message to Giants fans. Who cares?”

C-Mac has long been sick of the Barkley/Giants discourse, especially since it has continued even with the Eagles making a Super Bowl run, and he simply can’t believe analysts, announcers, and fans are wasting their breath on the irrelevant Giants while Barkley’s current team is one win away from a Super Bowl title.

“It’s stupid to even ask the question,” C-Mac said. “That question is for your opening press conference when you signed with the Eagles...not when you’re preparing for the Super Bowl.”
