The Cowboys throttled the Giants in Sunday night's season opener, 40-0. It was the largest margin of victory in a road season opener in franchise history.
One reason for Dallas' dominance in Week 1 was third-year edge rusher Micah Parsons.
Parsons finished with just one sack on the stat sheet, but he generated routine pressure, and wrecked the Giants' offense regularly.
"It just all started with the offseason and camp. Everyone came in with a mindset that we were going to dominate," Parsons said of Dallas' dominant defensive showing. "We know that these games depend on us."
The Cowboys' overwhelming pass rush in particular stole the show. Giants quarterback Daniel Jones couldn't find a rhythm at any point during the game.
This performance, coupled with Dallas' growth as a defense in the past two seasons, has left Parsons feeling supremely confident.
"We're the best defense in the National Football League."
Parsons wasn't done there, as he went to X, formally Twitter, a short time later to make a bold claim.
