Now that Shane Bowen is on board as Giants defensive coordinator, C-Mac’s top priority for the new coach is to finally unlock their former top pick.

“I think we should be done seeing Kayvon Thibodeaux dropping back into pass protection and covering the flat. Enough,” C-Mac said. “It’s time to see Kayvon Thibodeaux attacking the quarterback.

“It’s time to get Kayvon Thibodeaux impacting the game, because I’m tired of the discussion. I think Kayvon Thibodeaux is an excellent football player.”

Thibodeaux put together a productive season after the defense settled in and overcame their disastrous start to the season, but C-Mac wants to see more in 2024, and it starts with the scheme.

“I don’t think he’s a bust,” C-Mac said. “I think he’s a talented guy that was in a scheme that famously doesn’t have double-digit sack guys…he needs to get Kayvon Thibodeaux going. That’s number one.”
