Few running backs have dominated the college game the way Breece Hall did at Iowa State. He led the nation in rushing yards as a sophomore in 2020, outrushing Najee Harris by 106 yards and doing it in one less game.
The two-time Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year will surely provide a boost to any backfield as he was one of the most electric players to watch in college football the last two seasons and looks to continue that trend in the NFL with the Jets, who selected him in the second round, 36th overall.
Measurables: 5'11"/217 lbs.
School: Iowa State
2021 stats: 253 carries, 1,472 yards, 5.8 yards per carry, 20 TDs, 36 receptions, 302 yards, 3 receiving TDs.
Accolades: Two-time First-Team AP All-American (2020, 2021) and first unanimous All-American in Iowa State history (2020), two-time Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year (2020,2021), Doak Walker finalist (2021) and runner up (2020), FBS record 24 consecutive games with a rushing TD (2020, 2021), led FBS with 1,572 rushing yards (2020), second-team All-Big 12 (2019).
Strengths: Hall has a good size and athletic build for a running back and put his speed on display at the NFL Combine with a 4.39 40 time. Explosive and elusive with plus vision that allows him to find space and lanes before they develop. Is a decent blocker and can catch out of backfield.
Weaknesses: Despite his size, Hall could add some more physicality to his game. He can get off balance with his elusiveness and could improve on breaking tackles. He has also taken on a large workload during college, with 800-plus carries in three seasons. Tendency to hesitate behind the line.

What experts are saying:
"Hall was a tremendous ball carrier for Iowa State the past two seasons and often carried the unit on his shoulders in 2021. He’s a big back who can handle a lot of carries as well as effectively catch the ball out of the backfield. If he learns the play to his 40 time, Hall will be a dangerous running back in the NFL." -Tony Pauline, Pro Football Network.
"Will give NFL evaluators early starter vibes with his blend of size, power and creativity. Hall isn't very sudden in tight quarters but gets better as the run play progresses with good vision and an above-average sense for how to beat second-level tacklers. He has surprising build-up speed once he's in the open field but might not have the instant gas to become a plus outside runner. His running style is willful when it needs to be and he's adept at moving the chains on "got to have it" short-yardage carries. Hall has full-package, three-down talent with surprisingly soft hands out of the backfield and should find early touches as a Day 2 draft pick with above-average potential." - Lance Zierlein, NFL.com
