A video of Aaron Rodgers and Garrett Wilson having a heated disagreement on the sideline at Jets training camp went viral on Monday, racking up millions of views as some wondered if there was trouble brewing between the star quarterback and his top receiver.
Boomer and Gio agree that any concern regarding the video is nonsensical.
“If you looked at the video of Aaron Rodgers and Garrett Wilson and came away with a negative take, then you never played a team sport in your life. That’s ridiculous,” Gio said. “They were obviously talking football animatedly, and at the end, they shook hands. That is the exact thing you want to see from these guys.
“I thought that was a positive. I want to see them have some rough days. I want to see the defense get in the offense’s face to make them better.”
Boomer, who has plenty of experience playing through training camps and frustrating days of practice, couldn’t agree more, and said those kind of disagreements only help the team in the long run.
“Competition breeds intensity. You have to bring it to the field every single day,” Boomer said. “There’s gonna be some tough days. Yesterday was one of them for the offense. Good thing the quarterback recognized it, and good thing they were pissed off.”
