Boomer and Gio said there was plenty of blame to go around for the Jets’ 30-0 shellacking at the hands of the Dolphins on Sunday, but both had a big problem with how Mekhi Becton performed on the offensive line, and with his demeanor after the game.

“The lack of compete in the players...I don’t know if Mekhi Becton is hurt or not, but that performance was an embarrassment for him and the Jets,” Boomer said. “It just kind of amplifies the problems the Jets have had on offense for three years now. Three years now, there has been no confidence.”

Becton was seen smiling on his way into the Jets locker room after the game was over, leading to many fans criticizing Becton. Gio isn’t sure if there is more to the story with Becton and his play on Sunday, but if there is not an underlying injury, he needs to be sat in favor of any other available option.

“Was he sick? Was he hurt? What was that?” Gio said. “He was getting embarrassed on every single play…they’ve benched 10 million quarterbacks this season over and over again, but a guy like that is getting his ass handed to him, why don’t you bench him?

“He doesn’t care that he just was embarrassed the entire game. If you’re laughing after that game, it just means that you don’t care about being a professional.”
