Boomer believes Davante Adams will be with Jets 'next week'

Davante Adams has reportedly requested a trade from the Raiders, and Boomer, as he has maintained for months, is sticking with his belief that the star wide receiver will reunite with Aaron Rodgers and join the Jets.

He also wouldn’t be surprised if Adams was on the roster ahead of Gang Green’s Week 6 matchup with the Bills on Monday Night Football.

“I don’t see Davante Adams wanting to go to Buffalo or Pittsburgh,” Boomer said. “He wants to reunite with Aaron Rodgers. They’ve been talking and texting.

“If I were the Jets, I would do it today. I wouldn’t be surprised if Davante was here next week. The Jets are leaving for London, so he wouldn’t be here now.”

Las Vegas is reportedly seeking a second-round pick plus other compensation for Adams, a former favorite target for Rodgers when the two were in Green Bay. The Jets clearly need more on offense after being held out of the end zone against the Broncos in Week 4, and Adams would be another potent receiving weapon for Rodgers.

The only potential issue in Boomer’s eyes is what the arrival of Adams could do to Rodgers’ current targets.

“There’s no hiding that Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams are friends and have been in contact with each other,” Boomer said. “But what does that do to the Allen Lazards and Mike Williams and Garrett Wilsons of the world?”
