Breece Hall: Jets teammates get much different Aaron Rodgers than some assume him to be

Aaron Rodgers has heard plenty of criticism since joining the Jets, with many fans declaring that the quarterback has been a distraction due to comments on The Pat McAfee Show, mulling a vide presidential run, or traveling to Egypt during mandatory minicamp.

While some believe Rodgers has become the opposite of the culture he says to want to build in New York, Breece Hall says the Rodgers he and his teammates know is much different than the quarterback that is portrayed by large corners of the public, and that he is very much in line with winning and drowning out the noise.

“Just knowing how much he values his teammates and this brotherhood we have, you get a whole different outlook on him,” Hall told Evan and Tiki on Monday at Jets training camp. “Just being around him and knowing how much he values us and his relationship with us, and knowing the high standard he holds himself to. He holds us to that same standard. That just gets us to become closer with each other and expect more from each other to uphold that standard of us wanting to be great together. It’s brought us closer together.

“Knowing that he’s like that, it just ties us all into that. That’s the standard now.”

With the standard set heading into a crucial season for Gang Green, Hall says he and his teammates don’t feel pressure to live up to those expectations, and believe the roster’s collective talent will prevail.

“You may call it naïve or whatever, but when I step out on the field, I think I’m that dude,” Hall said. “Garrett [Wilson] thinks the same thing. Aaron is already that dude. Living and walking it. So it’s just like, let’s get out there and do this thing. We feel like if we put our best foot forward, then we’re gonna be fine.”
