The Jets made one of the biggest splashes of the NFL offseason on Friday night, signing All-Pro left tackle Tyron Smith to a one-year deal that could be worth as much as $20 million if incentives are reached.

The 33-year-old joins a revamped Jets offensive line, one that looks much different, and much better (on paper), than the mess of a season ago. For that, C-Mac says Joe Douglas deserves a round of applause.

“I’ll tell you one guy who has less explaining to do than ever, and that’s Joe Douglas,” C-Mac said. “He pulled off one of the great signings of the offseason.

“If you aren’t excited about that, this is an All-Pro left tackle. They have completely revamped their offensive line…they’ve opened themselves up to a bunch of different possibilities in the draft now.”

The Jets can now get a top receiver or tight end in the draft if they choose to, as they no longer feel tied down to drafting an offensive lineman, and most importantly, they should have a future Hall of Famer at quarterback.

“They are on target to fill all their holes, and better than any of them, Aaron Rodgers is not gonna be the vice president of the United States!” C-Mac said. “It can’t get better!”
