If anyone knows how to rankle and evaluate the struggles of a quarterback, it’s a defensive back…and after Zach Wilson was benched in the midst of the Jets’ 19-3 loss the Jaguars Thursday night, former Jets DB Darrelle Revis weighed in to say Wilson has “lost the trust of the Jets’ fan base.”

“I’m not saying it’s impossible. It will be very hard to regain their trust again. I witnessed these same boos when Brett (Favre) was under center,” Revis further wrote in his Tweet:
Revis had Tweeted before the game: “Let’s see how bad these boys want it tonight. This is a big test + I have my money on the jets to play a complete game. All 3 phases. Let’s go.”
Unfortunately, the defense wasn’t great – Jacksonville had one 96-yard touchdown drive, but were held to four field goals on five attempts and one turnover on their other eight full drives – but the offense didn’t really even show up until Wilson was benched in favor of Chris Streveler, who was called up from the practice squad for the game.
Wilson played seven series and was 9-for-18 for 94 yards and an interception, and he was sacked three times as well. The Jets had 78 net yards of offense, only seven on the ground, and ran just 24 offensive plays in those drives, including only three (for minus-3 yards) on their lone scoring drive, which started at the Jaguars 16 after a Trevor Lawrence fumble.
Streveler entered late in the third and got three drives, which yielded two turnovers on downs and one actual turnover, a Garrett Wilson fumble. The former CFL star ended up as the Jets’ leading rusher with nine carries for 54 yards, and in the air, he was 10-for-15 for 90 yards.
