Darelle Revis, to nobody’s surprise, is a first ballot Hall of Famer after being announced as part of the Class of 2023 on Thursday night, and by doing so, Evan says the best player in franchise history is set to be enshrined in Canton.

“Pound for pound, he was the best player who ever played for the New York Jets,” Evan said. “At what he did, he was the best.”

Revis certainly was in a league of his own during his prime with Gang Green. A seven time Pro Bowler and a four time All-Pro selection, Revis logged 25 interceptions in 108 games played with the Jets, and earned four straight Pro Bowl selections within his first five seasons in the league.

As Evan noted, Revis’ standing among Jets fans soured when he left and eventually won a Super Bowl with the rival Patriots, but regardless, Evan has nothing but adoration for the franchise GOAT.

“Here’s what’s beautiful about Darrelle Revis: Jet fans adore him, Jet fans are proud that he’s a first ballot Hall of Famer, but when I was at this radio station…Darrelle Revis was disliked by Jets fans,” Evan said.

“I love Darrelle Revis. I argued with the audience…’We can’t trade him. He needs to be a Jet for life.’ It bothers me that he wasn’t.”
