Gio has come to the revelation that Aaron Rodgers’ tenure in New York has become very similar to what Kyrie Irving’s tumultuous Brooklyn tenure.

“It’s similar, but also different,” Gio said. “Aaron Rodgers and Kyrie Irving have been very similar in their time here in New York…injuries, making headlines off the court and off the field that are political and have nothing to do with the team…Coming in and blowing up the organization they were brought in to save…having one championship on their resume, are one of the most talented people in their respective sports.”

Irving was a controversial figure in New York before asking for a trade, ultimately winning just one playoff series as part of the Nets’ failed superteam experiment. Rodgers’ first season lasted just four snaps and was an overall disaster, and has spent much of the season making noise and creating drama off the field. Still, Gio recognizes that there is one major difference between the two polarizing figures.

“Kyrie engaged in tremendously hateful anti-Semitism,” Gio said. “Aaron Rodgers has never done that, so that’s a big difference there. But big personality, making a ton of headlines, and not playing.”
