As the Jets continue their long list of head coaching interviews, Gio says there is already one revelation that has come from this process that makes him feel better about the operations of the franchise.
That revelation is the fact that there have been no revelations surfacing from the interview process.
“I will give you one positive, something that feels different already,” Gio said. “It’s not that big of a deal, but so far, it’s a positive thing. You’re not hearing any leaks...it feels like they took this operation down to Florida and have this thing completely under wraps.
“You haven’t heard how the Rex thing went, how the Vrabel thing went. They are really tight-lipped about this with all these candidates, and hiring The 33rd Team.”
Gio, and many Jets fans, are used to leaks galore around the Jets, whether it be bombshell reports by The Athletic on Woody Johnson or any other outlet getting a scoop on Gang Green’s latest display of dysfunction. So far, nothing like that has happened, and Gio sees that as progress.
“That’s a positive because it feels like they’ve learned something and trying not to step in it, to make things worse than they already are,” Gio said. “Saying ‘We have to make sure we’re handling this like professionals.’
“So far, so good with that.”
