Gio breaks down possible meanings for Aaron Rodgers’ eye-opening Davante Adams comment
Aaron Rodgers opened some eyes on Thursday when he told reporters that he “can’t wait” to play with longtime Packers teammate Davante Adams “again,” feuling speculation that Rodgers wants Adams on the Jets.
Gio says that is one of several possibilities in regards to what Rodgers was trying to say with that noteworthy quote.
“He has been asking the Jets to do everything in their power to get Davante Adams, and he doesn’t think they have been, so he’s putting pressure on them to do that because he’s not getting what he wants. That 100 percent is a possibility,” Gio said. “Second possibility is he is just messing around because he loves to throw stuff out there like this and watch people react to it.
“Choice C, more outside the box…he is so down on the Jets right now that he wants to go to Vegas to be the quarterback of the Raiders. He went to Egypt and skipped the minicamp because he’s trying to get out of being a Jet and wants to go to the Raiders.”
Adams has already said he is a Raider, so it doesn’t seem like a trade is coming. With Rodgers near the end of his career, it’s hard to see a reunion happening, leading Gio to wonder that there might be much less to what Rodgers said.
“Choice D, he just said that and wasn’t thinking about what he was saying,” Gio said. “Choice E, he was talking about golf, not football.”
