Darrelle Revis, the greatest pass defender in Jets history, will be inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor next weekend when Gang Green hosts the Bears.

He was at Jets practice on Friday to talk about the honor.

“Man, I put a lot of work into it,” Revis said. “It’s very surreal in a way, just being honored. I’m overwhelmed and excited.

“I walked in here today, it’s butterflies all over again. Being recognized is amazing, for an organization to honor you for the hard work and dedication that you put into it.”

Revis also spent some time with Sauce Gardner on Friday, who is blossoming into one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL in his rookie season, with many wondering if this year’s top Jets draft pick could become the next Revis in terms of Jets franchise greats.

“The sky's the limit for him. I love his game,” Revis said.

“It’s a different style of play, but at the same time, he’s effective in what he can do. Him and D.J. Reed have done a great job of being the dynamic duo. In this game, you actually need that. You need great cover corners. I think he can take on that legacy as being a New York Jet great.”
