Somehow, it went from good to bad to worse to unreal for the Jets in the first six minutes of Sunday’s game against Detroit.

The Lions got the ball first and drove all the way down to the Jets’ one-yard-line, going for it on fourth-and-goal and coming up short when the Jets defense stuffed Jamaal Williams.
And that was the good, as on the ensuing drive, the returning Zach Wilson heard some boos early, as he followed a Bam Knight one yard loss with two incompletions, forcing the Jets to punt from their own end zone.
And then came the worse, as Braden Mann’s punt was a line drive that Khalif Raymond took at the Jets’ 47 and scampered to the house, hurdling Mann as the final obstacle on his return TD.
Not a great way for the Jets to start a game with huge playoff implications for both teams, as the Lions need a win to keep pace with Seattle and whomever loses tonight’s Commanders-Giants game, while the Jets are currently the third team in a three-way tie for the seventh spot in the AFC East.
