After Mecole Hardman blasted the Jets and their culture on The Pivot Podcast, punter Thomas Morestead came back firing on Wednesday afternoon.
Morestead threw shade at the former Jets wide receiver not cracking the team’s rotation to start the season, which led to him being dealt to the Chiefs, where he eventually won another Super Bowl.
“Be careful getting information from disgruntled former employees,” Morestead posted on X (formerly known as Twitter). “Getting beat out by a rookie free agent after being guaranteed millions of dollars is tough to deal with.”
Morestead was referring to Xavier Gipson, who impressed in camp and in the preseason to have more of a role than Hardman, who was expected to help boost the Jets’ receiving core around Aaron Rodgers, along with Randall Cobb. Instead, Hardman was a non-factor, though he wound up hauling in the game-winning touchdown pass in the Super Bowl for Kansas City.
