With the No. 42 overall pick, the tenth in Round 2, in the 2025 NFL Draft, the New York Jets selected LSU tight end Mason Taylor.
The pick was announced by John Abraham, a five-time Pro Bowler who played his first six seasons with the Jets after being the No. 13 overall pick in 2000.
Taylor, the son of NFL legend Jason, had 129 catches, the most by a TE in LSU history, and 1,308 yards in 38 career games (37 starts) over three years, becoming the first tight end in Tigers history with both 100 catches and 1,000 yards in his career.
His 55 catches last season were also a single-season school record for TE, and he was named a Third-Team All-SEC selection. His NFL comparison per his draft prospect profile was Dallas Goedert, which, most likely, any Jets fan would sign up for.
