Joe Benigno goes off on 'disgraceful' Jets, calls out both sides of the ball

Joe Benigno joined Evan and Tiki for his weekly spot to react to the Jets latest loss, this time a crushing, likely season-ending blowout defeat at the hands of Kyler Murray and the Cardinals.

Not surprisingly, Joe was disgusted with the effort coming off a long break where the season was likely on the line.

“What a disgrace,” Joe said.

Nobody was safe from criticism, including the officials. But Joe says the Jets have nobody to blame but themselves, and it isn’t all on the defense continuing to look nothing like what many predicted they would be before the season.

“As bad as the defense was - and they were freaking horrible - the offense wasn’t any good either,” Joe said. “They can’t score...how many times did I see [Aaron] Rodgers throw it one way and [Davante] Adams running another way?”

Of course, the defense deserved their criticism as well, including the “ever-overrated” Sauce Gardner, who Joe is losing his patience with.

“I’m sorry, he’s been terrible…I don’t know what else to say,” Joe said. “Really disgraceful.

“I don’t know what happened to him.”

Gardner missed a key tackle on a crucial third-down play, and he was far from the only culprit, as the Jets missed a total of 20 tackles in the game, tied for the most by any team in a game this season. It was enough to make Joe sick watching at home.

“They way they shredded the defense,” Joe said of the Cardinals. “It was disgraceful.”
