Joe Benigno laments continued Jets misery after Sunday's collapse

Joe Benigno recently had to pay a visit to the doctor as he was sick with COVID, but he blamed the main reason for feeling ill on the Jets.

Joe joined Evan and Tiki for his weekly spot and quickly lamented having to watch a double-digit lead disappear and his Jets fall to 3-9 in as season that was supposed to see their record playoff drought finally end.

“I completely blame my football team for this…you knew, as soon as Leonard Williams returned that interception for a touchdown, you knew it was over,” Joe said.

“You just can’t make it up! I know they’re not going anywhere, but 60 years of these kind of losses…and we still have five games to go! We have to deal with five more!”

Evan made it clear that he puts the bulk of the blame on Aaron Rodgers, and while Joe couldn’t believe the quarterback threw a pick six to spark Seattle’s comeback, he wants to see the future Hall of Famer finish out the season.

“It’s a lot more than Rodgers,” Joe said. “He didn’t play well, but there were so many things involved in this game.

“The guy came here and wanted to be here. How many season tickets did this guy sell because he came to this franchise? If he’s healthy, let him finish the year. We’re not going anywhere anyway.”
