Mark Sanchez’s infamous hot dog sighting was in the spotlight again on Monday, with the former Jets quarterback providing all the details on NFL Network to how he wound up sneakily eating a frankfurter on the sidelines.
Turns out, with Gang Green looking to avoid a four-game losing streak, Sanchez’s pregame nerves were too much to hold down any food, and had to take the field on an empty stomach.

“I’m so nervous before the game, I can’t eat,” Sanchez said. “We have our game, we’re up 380, I ask one of those guys in the blue shorts, ‘Yo, I need some food! You got a hot dog? You got a burger?’”
Sanchez was told there were hot dogs, and he didn’t flinch.
“Yo, get some mustard!” Sanchez replied.
So, moments later, Sanchez was hunched over, trying to hide the fact that he was eating a hot dog while the game was still going on right in front of him. It was quite a way to make an early impression on the NFL, as Sanchez was in the midst of his rookie season.
The incident followed Sanchez into retirement, including last October when he filmed a sketch for Mizzen & Main, a menswear company that filmed Sanchez once again trying to hide a hot dog during a staff meeting.
