Mike White is the talk of the town in New York after coming off the bench and leading the Jets to victory in an offensive awakening, but he is apparently also the talk of his fantasy hockey team.
He credits another local pro athlete enjoying his own success for his undefeated fantasy hockey start, one who plays his home games just a few miles from MetLife Stadium.
“Without question Jack Hughes. He’s been on fire,” White said on the NHL Fantasy podcast. “Every time I get out of practice or get done with watching film for the night, I’ll check the scores, it’s like, ‘Jack Hughes: One goal, one assist.’
“I don’t want to brag at all, but we’re undefeated. We’re 7-0.”
White admittedly has been getting some help with the running of his team, but he is very happy about his decision to draft Hughes, who had another two assists in Thursday’s overtime loss to the Predators.
