Aaron Boone reveals Jazz Chisholm will be moved back to second base

Aaron Boone, in his weekly appearance on the Talkin’ Yanks podcast, revealed that Jazz Chisholm will be making the move back to second base.

The Yankee skipper added that the position change will go into effect starting Tuesday night in New York’s series opener against the Mariners in the Bronx.

The move is a welcomed revelation for much of the Yankee fanbase, as Chisholm’s spot at third base has been a hot-button issue during the Bombers’ extended swoon that now has them 3.5 games out of first place. Chisholm has been manning the hot corner for much of the season to middling results at best, and many clamored for the Yanks to put Chisholm back at his more natural second base, where he has been a plus defensively for much of his career.

So far this season, Chisholm has posted a -3 defensive runs saved at third base, compared to +3 at second base.

Chisholm has said himself that he would prefer to play second base, where he feels more comfortable and confident, but was willing to do whatever the Yanks asked of him.

Boone also told Talkin’ Yanks that Oswald Peraza will get the start at third base on Monday night.
