Yankees send OF Marshall Toole to Rays as PTBNL from Jose Caballero trade

The New York Yankees have traded OF Marshall Toole to the Tampa Bay Rays as the player to be named later in the 7/31/25 trade in which the Yankees acquired INF/OF José Caballero in exchange for OF Everson Pereira.

Toole, 22, batted .305/.406/.479 (96-for-315) with 66R, 14 doubles, 13 triples, 5HR, 48RBI, 52BB and 44SB in 96 games with Single-A Tampa this season. Over two minor league seasons in the Yankees organization (2024-25), Toole has hit .298/.413/.462 (109-for-366) with 72R, 16 doubles, 13 triples, 6HR, 57RBI, 67BB and 52SB in 113 games. The Decatur, Ga., native was originally selected by the Yankees in the 15th round of the 2024 First-Year Player Draft out of Wofford College (S.C.).
