Reports: Yankees, Jonathan Loaisiga agree to one-year deal with 2026 option

The Yankees have reportedly reunited with one of their former bullpen stalwarts: according to multiple reports, the Bombers and RHP Jonathan Loaisiga have agreed on a one-year contract with a team option for 2026.

Loáisiga, 30, was one of the Yankees’ best relievers from 2021-22, posting a 2.96 ERA in 118 2/3 innings. However, he missed most of 2023 with elbow inflammation, appearing in just 17 games, and made three appearances this season before undergoing Tommy John surgery.

He is expected be ready to pitch in late-April, so his addition, possibly mid-season, would bolster a Yankees bullpen that saw closer Clay Holmes go to the Mets and top back-end reliever Tommy Kahnle also hit free agency.
