When things aren't in your control, it can be frustrating when they go awry. A dropped pass in football, a missed three that would have given you your 10th assist... maybe even an unbelievably epic collapse in "Family Feud."

You can imagine just how seething Tim is on the inside. But he doesn't show it, out of respect to Anna and the rest of the family. That's a good approach to take. And that's not the approach that veteran pitcher Ross Stripling took in the Yankees-Blue Jays game on Wednesday night after third baseman Joe Panik botched a throw and allowed the inning to continue.

As it turned out, the error wouldn't be such a big deal. Gio Urshela struck out swinging in the next at-bat, and the inning was over. It wasn't until Stripling's seventh inning of work where the damage was really done, seeing as Gary Sanchez crushed a two-run home run and gave the Yankees the lead, which would ultimately prove to be the game-changing play.

After the game, Stripling apologized for his blow up and used himself as an example for how not to act if a player, or athlete of any kind, found him or herself in that kind of situation.

"It’s the most disrespectful thing I’ve ever done, maybe ever certainly on a baseball field," Stripling said (via Jared Greenspan of the New York Post). "I’m completely embarrassed about it, I simply let the moment get too big for me.

"Honestly, I’m mortified by it, I can’t stand that’s the way that went. I apologized to Joe individually, I even addressed the team because I feel so bad about it. That can’t happen. That should never happen. It’ll never happen again from me, I promise you that. Joe, the awesome veteran and person that he is, took it in stride and said no hard feelings, but you can’t do anything worse than that to a teammate and I feel terrible."

Stripling and Panik, both one-time All-Stars, are now both over 30 years old and need to serve as examples for the young, flourishing talent in the Blue Jays organization. Hopefully this little roller coaster helps them to accomplish just that.
