Sal: It's time to start worrying about slumping Aaron Judge

Aaron Judge had another hitless game on Wednesday, flying out to end the game and spoil the Yankees’ comeback bid, while dropping his season batting average to .178.

Sal is officially concerned about Judge as he continues to struggle to open the season.

“I know it’s early, and I know the guy is a beast, but I’m starting to get concerned about Aaron Judge,” Sal said. “It’s never been about production with Judge. It’s always been about staying healthy. Well, he stayed healthy, and he hasn’t been producing for the Yankees through the first 13 games. That is concerning.

“He’s hitting .178. This is Aaron Judge…we don’t know the health status of Judge. But if you’re out there on the field, you gotta get the Judge based on being on the field.”

Bigger picture, could this be a sign of what is to come with Judge, who himself has admitted that he will be managing the toe injury he suffered last year, and missed time in spring training with an abs issue?

“If he is managing that toe or something with the oblique, that’s a major concern too,” Sal said. “What if this is the new Aaron Judge?”
