Sal trusts nobody in Yankees lineup outside of top three: 'Major concerns'
The Yankee offense fell short in what was a third straight loss on Tuesday night, falling 5-4 to the Blue Jays in Toronto.
For Sal, it was the latest piece of evidence that there are “major concerns” with the Yankee offense outside of their top three hitters in the lineup.
“Behind the top three, I don’t trust anyone in that Yankee lineup,” Sal said. “Stanton, no. Rizzo, no. Torres, no. Trevino, no.
“If it wasn’t for Oswaldo Cabrera, the Yankees would have six wins.”
Anthony Volpe and Juan Soto have been big boosts at the top of the order, and while Aaron Judge has struggled, Sal expects him to turn it around. Still, he sees a “down year” for Judge overall, and with the rest of the lineup behind those three carrying major question marks, Sal doesn’t buy that the Yankees’ hot start is what fans will see throughout the summer.
“I think they are closer to the team they’ve been over the last 10 games than the very beginning of the season,” Sal said. “I think they have flaws.”
