Yankee teammates boo Jazz Chisholm during champagne shower after taking on villain role
The Yankees had some fun with Jazz Chisholm while the team popped champagne in celebration of its fourth ALCS berth in the past eight years.
A crowd of teammates surrounded the Yankee third baseman and doused him with champagne, booing him loudly as a nod to the endless boos he heard from the Kansas City crowd throughout games three and four.
Chisholm became public enemy number one among Royals fans after he told reporters that KC “got lucky” in game two in the Bronx, and that the Yanks would still win the series and advance.
Turns out, he was right, but that didn’t stop him from hearing relentless boos throughout his at-bats in both games, and especially when he was introduced with the rest of the Yankee roster before game three on Wednesday night.
Chisholm clearly embraced the villain role, as he was seen saying “I love this” as the boos rained down on him. He didn’t record a hit in the final two games, but the Yanks are moving on, and they were all able to laugh at Chisholm’s enemy label in Kansas City before heading home for games one and two of the ALCS, beginning Monday night.
