C-Mac: Yankees don't care about winning if Luis Severino makes another start

Luis Severino was tagged for nine runs on Sunday night, the third time already this season that he has allowed seven runs or more in a start.

C-Mac says Sunday’s disaster needs to be Severino’s last start as a Yankee.

“Severino is garbagio,” C-Mac said. “This is it. He’s lost. Here’s a good recommendation: don’t pitch again, and the Yankees absolutely have to do that.

“They can’t allow Severino to consistently go out there and blow games. Nestor Cortes is around the corner. Bring up a kid. We’ve seen [Randy] Vasquez, we’ve seen [Jhony] Brito, I don’t care if it’s a bullpen game. I don’t care if IKF starts. I mean it.”

If Severino makes another start, then C-Mac would be ready to declare that the franchise simply isn’t prioritizing winning and making a comeback in the Wild Card race.

“Luis Severino can’t start another game for the Yankees,” C-Mac said. “Put him in the bullpen, cut him, trade him, put him on the IL, I don’t care.

“If Severino is allowed to make another start for the Yankees, I don’t know how you could possibly say the Yankees care about winning.”
