Harrison Bader knows there's a chance Aaron Judge leaves: 'It's a business'

Harrison Bader didn’t share an outfield with Aaron Judge for long this season, but he hopes they spend a lot more time out there together in the years ahead.

Of course, that chance could be wiped away if Judge signs elsewhere in free agency, and Bader is more than aware that it could happen.

“Listen, if Albert Pujols can [leave], anybody could,” the former Cardinal said on MLB Network, via the New York Post. “It’s a business. I learned that very quickly this year. There are not hard feelings at all. It’s never personal. It’s about the game. Selfishly, I’d love to continue to be his teammate.
He’s an incredible talent.”

Bader showed his potential with a monster offensive showing this postseason, while his reputation as an elite defender precedes him. Having a former Gold Glove finalist and the single-season American League home run king to his right would solidify a strong Yankee outfield, but Bader knows it can go either way.

“He earned everything that’s coming his way,” Bader said. “I wish him the absolute best wherever he ends up. It’s a decision he and his family will make. I’m looking forward to seeing how it shakes out.”
